Mogadishu University has forged a collaboration Memorandum of Understanding with Istanbul Aydin University, marking a significant milestone in their partnership. Our president, Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Mursal signed the MOU for Mogadishu University. This agreement sets the stage for fruitful cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two educational institutions.
Through this collaboration, Mogadishu University and Istanbul Aydin University aim to enhance academic opportunities, foster research collaboration, and promote cross-cultural understanding. By leveraging their respective strengths and expertise, both universities seek to create a mutually beneficial partnership that will positively impact the educational landscape.
The collaboration agreement encompasses various areas of cooperation, including joint research projects, faculty and student exchange programs, curriculum development, and the sharing of educational resources. These initiatives are designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, promote academic growth, and advance the educational experiences of students and faculty members from both institutions.

Kick-off Meeting for the PURSUE Project
Mogadishu University is honored to be part of the Promoting Sustainable, Affordable Housing Construction Technologies Using Environmentally Sound Locally Available Resources (PURSUE) Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ CBHE program. The project’s Kick-off Meeting took place from February 17–21, 2025, at the Dar Es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) in Tanzania, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the project’s objectives, implementation strategies, management plans, and long-term impact. PURSUE is a collaborative effort of eight partner universities from Somalia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Turkey, and Portugal. The project aims to develop innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective housing technologies by leveraging environmentally friendly, locally available materials. By enhancing technical skills, strengthening university infrastructure, and fosteringresearch in Civil Engineering, PURSUE seeks to address critical challenges in affordable housing while promoting sustainable development. Mogadishu University is committed to actively contributing to this transformative initiative, engaging in knowledge exchange, research collaborations, and capacity building to equip staff and students with essential skills and expertise for the future.
